We've had a great day, the spring flowers are still beautiful and we have also seen many Red Cardinals (Northern Cardinals) and Bluebirds plus the odd hawk and of course buzzards. They have reintroduced eagles to the area but we didn't see any this time. I don't think I have mentioned that we love watching the antics of the American Robin which is very like our Blackbird with a red breast. They act the same by hopping around on the ground and seem to be very territorial. But a very pleasant surprise when we got back to the camp site (well I would have loved for the wifi to work but .....) in a tree near to our rig a Woodpecker was tending her nest and feeding the babes. Turkey Run State Park 14th May
Rain overnight and quite chilly this morning but sun and partial cloudy skies so off to Turkey Run State Park for a hiking day
First hiking route takes us over the suspension bridge

We are amazed, yesterday and getting here today we have travelled over miles of flat farming land and here we are, having hiked a short distance, standing in a canyon formed by erosion of glacier melt.
Another one for Alan

A cheeky little chipmunk
Sugar Creek River

Part of the afternoon hike and another gorge

Rock formations and gorges, not quite so dramatic as the Grand Canyon but still a fabulous sight
Ok final trail of the day and this is the trail !!!!
Michael on above trail
On all of our hikes and travels over the past couple of months we have been amazed at the trees growing out of/part of the rocks. It's almost si-fi !
