Sunday 9th May
Broke camp early to get started on our journey to Wisconsin. Going as far as the west side of West Virginia today. Journey started fine not much traffic on the I-64 but very very windy which made driving a challenge. Very scenic route again up and down the mountains

Really steep gradients and by now lots of trucks and rubbish road surface ! The turnpike around Charleston WV was $5 toll (Tammy did want us to avoid !!) and the surface was a nightmare !

Charleston WV. Capitol building, houses state government. Large coal minning area. Railroad-river all equiped for moving tons of coal
Arrived at site in Milton West Virginia rather shaken from the road surfaces (at one point the side door which is locked when travelling flew open from the vibration !) and just hope it not like this the whole journey !! Really good wifi connection here so catching up on blog and mails.

Still following and enjoying the photos! With all this activity I reckon Mike must be down to about 10 st 7lbs by now, but I'm intrigued that all photos are full on, not sideways - could it be that coffee and dunkin donuts are keeping him in his normal fine shape?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the drive to Wisconsin - I went there once - it was closed!
Alan
Hi Alan, Sue here, Himself is "resting" with a beer in his hand but he says to say he needs to make another hole in his belt as he is fading away !!
ReplyDeleteWith the state of the roads getting this far on route to Wisconsin we are not sure it was the right thing to do but we shall prevail !
Love to you and Maxine
