Friday 16th Nashville

We woke up to the news of the volcanic eruption in Iceland and the disruption it has caused. We with Clive and Eileen were in this area when we visited Iceland in January.
Via Gerry's shuttle bus to downtown Nashville. Gerry great fun and very informative, a mini tour, he told us best places to eat for lunch time specials and also mention his name and no cover charge at the Wildhorse Saloon !
First stop Wildhorse for the tour. They can accommodate 2000 people on the two floors of the saloon and have the largest dance floor in Nashville and also line dance classes
Well one of them is an Old Nag !!
View of the capitol building
First tour, DUKW, World War 2 amphibious vehicle. Tour of Nashville and then 15 mins or so on the river

Captian Vic with fellow passenger having a drive whilst on River Cumberland
View of old railroad bridge from River Cumberland
Next stop tour of Country Music Hall of Fame
This one for Marion. Elvis Presley's multi million dollar car

Old and new buildings stand happily together in Nashville, we felt it all blended in well
Oldest record shop in Nashville, the world famous Ernest Tubb's Record Store
AT & T building, affectionately known as the "Batman Building
Old road bridge over the Cumberland now pedestrian bridge
Evening show at The Wildhorse Saloon
We had a fabulous day out in Nashville. Saw all the sights and enjoyed it all. The bars all have live music by wannabe's/stars of the future, there is wall to wall music in the bars and on the streets, it's something to be experienced.
We tested the beer in a couple of bars and then headed for the Wildhorse Saloon for dinner and the evening show. Really fantastic, great show, Michael's dinner was the largest plate of meat (pulled pork, thinly sliced brisket and ribs) that we have ever seen in one serving but we managed to eat most of it and my catfish. And Gerry was right no cover charge by mentioning his name !!
We wandered back up through broadway to Gerry's pick up point and back to our rig having had a great day.
Gerry did say that it is a very safe and clean city and we did very much feel that this is true.
